Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Dwight loves this state in every season and likes to joke that he’s from “LA,” short for Lovely Alaska, because nothing compares to its beauty.
Family is at the center of everything Dwight does. He and his wife raised two children and now share the joy of eight grandchildren. Becoming a protector of the people he loves became a priority early in life, and it shaped his path.
His background is unusual for a firearms instructor. Dwight studied behavioral psychology, spent years inside mental institutions working with the criminally insane, and has trained alongside SWAT. That work made him skilled at profiling risky situations before they escalate: reading body language, spotting the person who does not belong, and recognizing trouble while there is still time to walk away.
The Eclipse Instructor Team
Dwight does not teach alone. Eclipse instructors include active and retired police officers who are trained in what to look for: how threats actually develop, what body language gives them away, and how to respond before a situation becomes an emergency.
That team also includes a former Ranger who specializes in hyper-awareness: staying tuned in to your surroundings, reading what is forming around you, and building a buffer of what to do before it happens.
